Tyson Shuts Down Largest Meat Plants! 25% Of Pork Processing Capacity Closed, The Governor Is Fuming Video by Silver Report
There are now 17 meat processing facilities that have been shut down stoking fears of food shortages. An estimated 25% of U.S. pork processing capacity has been closed or idled due to reduced operating speed over the past two days in Iowa. Iowa is responsible for 1/3 of US pork production and there has been a string of closures after hundreds of workers have fallen ill.
The Governor is pretty upset that the plants have been closed and she said hundreds of thousands of pigs are about to be euthanized and small farms will take the brunt of the economic impact. Tyson foods has shut down two plants including their largest pork processing plants but it was beyond them. They were having the employees who became sick and a large portion of their employees who simply refused to come back into work over safety concerns. That kind of relates to our countries current dilemma because people have been saying they want to get things running and several Governors have stated they would like to get started right away and it is creating a deeper divide.
A reason I don’t see a V-shaped recovery as some analysts have claimed is the fact that many people are not taking steps to protect themselves because they don’t think there is a threat. If states are reckless with the way they re-open and people begin to feel unsafe in their businesses and states they may just avoid going altogether and many might never come back. This will take time and there are steps we could take to get back to work if we take the proper precautions, the problem is they spent so much time trying to convince us there was no problem it’s hard to put that back in the box.
