TDC Note – That’s a quick change – from not helping the U.S. to deporting people out of Mexico. What will the Mexican government do next? They change directions as much as Trump.
US military helicopters were called in after hundreds of Honduran migrants tried to storm the US border at the San Ysidro port of entry Sunday.
Hundreds of Honduran migrants pushed past Mexican riot police and rushed towards the US border Sunday.
A few dozen military-aged male Hondurans broke the border fence in Tijuana at the San Ysidro port of entry and were eventually repelled by tear gas.
The defiant migrants violently threw rocks at border patrol agents and scattered after pepper balls and tear gas were deployed.
Reuters is now reporting that Mexico is going to deport approximately 500 migrants who violently tried to storm the US border Sunday.
Mexico will deport about 500 migrants who on Sunday tried to “violently” and “illegally” cross the U.S. border, according to the Mexican Interior Ministry in a statement.
The statement added that Mexican authorities had contained the protest at the crossing between Tijuana and San Diego and that, despite heightened tensions there, Mexico would not send military forces to control 7,417 migrants from a caravan currently amassed at the U.S.-Mexico border.
