While Chicago Burns It’s Own, Mayor Rahm Emanuel Is Absent
While Chicago Burns It’s Own, Mayor Rahm Emanuel Is Absent by Rory – The Daily Coin
Why is one of the whitest women on TV conducting a town hall about the violence in the black communities of Chicago? Why isn’t someone like, Don Lemon of CNN, Joy Reid of MSNBC or any of the other black commentators, or any people of color, on corporate media doing what Laura Ingraham did on September 7? Why? It doesn’t fit the narrative. It doesn’t fit the agenda nor does it do anything to promote racial discourse. Laura Ingraham is actually addressing the problem and seeking solutions.
Laura Ingraham’s ChicagoTown Hall was one of the most powerful programs produced by corporate media in some time. The show takes a long, hard look at the gun violence that is sweeping Chicago and presents a wide spectrum of solutions. The solutions come from a variety of sources as well – clergy, ciivic leaders and everyday citizens. If you missed it now is your chance to see what corporate media news should look like all the time. This is what attracts people to news – actual news discussing real problems and seeking solutions all at the same time.
You will notice a sad lack of Black Lives Matter members, high profile members of the black community and zero social justice warriors – e.g. white and/or black feminist and antifa.
Rahm Emmanuel, Mayor of Chicago, was missing as well, even though he was invited to attend. Not only did he not attend the open forum meeting, he didn’t bother to send a representative for the Mayor’s office. Why would the Mayor not want to participate or even send a representative to, what turned out to be, an incredibly moving town hall meeting? There was a point during the meeting that Laura Ingraham was in tears to the point of barely being able to hold it all together. Needless to say my wife and I were both in tears. It actually took my breathe away when this scenario was being described. And the Mayor didn’t bother to send a representative – absolutely disgraceful.
