Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone To Grow As A Human Being
Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone To Grow As A Human Being by Ken Jorgustin – Modern Survival Blog
All too many of us are nice and comfy in our “comfort zone”, remaining there whenever possible.
You might ask “What’s wrong with that?”
Well, here’s what I think…
“Wrong” is not the right word. There’s nothing wrong with that in the sense of right and wrong. However here’s what I know as a fact:
If you keep yourself within the confines of your safe cocoon, you may actually be imprisoning yourself to an extent. Your growth as a human being will be limited.
What do I mean by growth? Things like:
-Expanding one’s enjoyment of life in general
-Increasing one’s knowledge
-Developing a greater sense of confidence while diminishing one’s fear of change
-Potential for higher income
-Better health (you’re moving and doing!)
-Self worth and self esteem
-Better general adaptability (more experiences)
There are more attributes (list some more if you’d like) however suffice it to say that by stepping out of your comfort zone will most always lead to betterment.
“You are only confined by the walls that you build yourself.”
“Amazing things rarely happen in your comfort zone.”
“Feel the fear and do it anyway.”
“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”
“There are wonders to see, to feel, to enjoy once you get out of your comfort zone.”
“Great things never came from comfort zones.”
“If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.”
I admit, I too am afflicted with the general UN-comfortableness of doing something outside the realm of my own previous experiences and outside the comfort of my own “cocoon”. However I can say with 100% confidence that EVERY time that I do, and after the experience is over, I am better for it in one way or another.
