EXCLUSIVE: Have a look at Russia’s 3rd-generation Ratnik combat gear

Classic AK 7.62×39 is much more powerfull then 5.45 or 5.56. Russian standart sniper rifle use even more powerfull 7.62×51, that’s enough to shoot through walls.

Well, depends what “7.62”. Since they’re talking about sniper rifles, it must be 7.62x54mm. That’s a very large and powerful round. Considerably stronger than 5.45x39mm or 5.56x45mm NATO used in standard issue rifles across the globe. It’s equivalent to 7.62x51mm NATO. Usually used in heavier MGs and sniper rifles. It travels at similar or higher velocities than assault rifle cartridges like 5.45mm and 5.56mm, but it also has much more propellant and is heavier, thus delivering considerably more energy on impact. The diameter isn’t much larger, so it doesn’t affect the round negatively. It certainly has better penetrative properties than 5.45mm and 5.56mm. Modernized military vests are usually certified to take at least one rifle round. After that, the ceramic plates will shatter, although someone might opt for both ceramic and steel plates, but that would be quite heavy.
