Perth Mint Silver Sales Trump US Mint Silver Sales
Perth Mint Silver Sales Trump US Mint Silver Sales by Rory, The Daily Coin
Does this mean the US Mint is losing its grip on as the reigning national mint? The significance of this happening, primarily, reflects the Eastern demand for precious metals. While the Western world is saturated in debt at all levels, the Eastern world is still solvent and has spare funds for protecting and preparing for the future. The West can barely hold on to what they have – which is all owned by the bank anyway.
What will be interesting is to see how the remainder of the year plays out. If the Perth Mint finishes with higher sales than the US Mint it would be a sign of things to come. The Silver Eagle has not changed since being introduced in 1986 – the only change to the coin has been the date and it takes the US Mint anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks to change the date dye!! Pretty sad.
