David Brock, the founder of Media Matters, who in 2014 the website The Nation reported to be the man that “created an empire to put Hillary Clinton in the White House,” failed in that venture after Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election, but has now become a driving force to attempt to put high profile conservative media personalities out of business.
In early April, Brock’s Media Matters went after Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly by publishing lists of advertisers with spots during O’Reilly’s show, encouraging a boycott campaign to get advertisers to pull their ads to force Fox News to get rid of one of their shows with the largest audience. It worked, O’Reilly is no longer with Fox News.
Then they went after Sean Hannity, using the same methodology, which initially appeared to be headed the same way, when a huge advertiser, USAA, a financial services firm geared toward military members and their families, pulled their ads from Hannity’s Fox News’ show, but after a backlash by the very people they claim to serve, by way of over 1,600 irate communications by military members in a 48 hour period, reinstated their advertising on the Hannity Show.
Brent Bozell, president of the conservative Media Research Center, said he wasn’t surprised by USAA’s decision, “given the avalanche” of protests. His group was behind mobilizing that backlash, and said its members generated more than 1,600 phone calls to USAA within 48 hours.
“They did the right think in going back on that show,” he said, “and so long as the other side isn’t participating in personal smears, they should participate on those shows, too.”
In an email from MRC, they conclude by making the following point:
Thank you for your support. We will continue to monitor efforts like this to silence conservative voices by intimidating advertisers. It’s a trend that must be stopped. Enough is enough.
MRC is right, Media Matters and Brock will not stop their attacks against any and all conservative media voices, while encouraging and supporting MSM sites, to which nearly two-third of Americans say report “fake news,” like Rachel Maddow, MSNBC, CNN and others.
‘FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE’
Which brings us to a number of patriots and conservatives that are banding together and have decided to “fight fire with fire.”
Melanie Morgan and Brian Maloney, two longtime radio talk show hosts and media analysts, have united for the #StopTheScalpings project for Media Equality Project, where they have decided that if Media Matters is going to target advertisers for conservatives like Sean Hannity, they will target the advertisers of the liberal “Fake news” media, starting with the Rachel Maddow show.
Hillary Clinton is one of the founders of Media Matters, and George Soros is a main benefactor, this is a group that has targeted numerous conservative voices for the sake of their being conservative.
While not one liberal has stood up in defense of liberty and freedom for Hannity, there are numerous liberal hosts who have faced criticism for their point of view, that he has supported in the past.
To counteract these fascistic tactics, #StoptheScalpings has decided to fight fire with fire. As long as Media Matters continues to attack conservatives, we will return them the same kindness. We begin with Rachel Maddow who has been the biggest purveyor of lies and propaganda in the media today. Like Media Matters, we will now inform the public and the advertisers about who they are financing.
