The Dire Situation in Syria
Through the weekly posting of these Batchelor-Cohen podcasts, we’ve spent the past 2.5 years keeping you abreast of the deteriorating crisis of The New Cold War. After the ceasefire agreement in Syria three weeks ago, there was hope for détente and cooperation. Instead, events have taken a turn for the worse and we stand at the precipice of outright war and disaster.
As you consider the events in Syria, be sure to recall how this all began. At the behest of the Saudis, the U.S. began in 2014 to demand that Syrian president Assad be overthrown. A “red line” was drawn but, thankfully, the U.S. backed down and did not directly intervene militarily. Instead, the US set out to arm and train forces to fight the Syrian military. And who are these “forces”? They are primarily Saudi-backed and aligned either directly or indirectly with Al-Qaeda.
Pause here to think about that because this is something that is NEVER mentioned in the American media. Simply put, 15 years after 9/11, the US military is arming and training Al-Qaeda terrorists to fight a proxy war against Syria. Wouldn’t this be an excellent subject in the US presidential debates? Perhaps this would be a question that a moderator could pose:
“Senator Clinton/Mr. Trump, fifteen years after the attacks of 9/11, it is now US policy to arm and train Al-Qaeda terrorists in order for these same terrorists to fight a proxy war for us, designed to destabilize and ultimately bring down the Assad regime is Syria. In arming and supporting the same terrorist group that perpetrated the single worst attack ever seen on US soil, the US is now openly risking hot war with Russia. Senator Clinton/Mr. Trump, do you support this policy and why?”
But, of course, that question will not be asked. Ever. All while the US Department of Defense openly states that it will not follow presidential orders to work side-by-side and share intelligence with Russia in Syria, which was the primary pillar of the ceasefire agreements of three weeks ago.
The proxy war in Syria has now disintegrated into an extraordinarily dangerous situation with meetings today in Washington to discuss direct US military action designed to hunt down Assad. Can you even imagine the reaction from the War Parties in Russia and Iran to this escalation from The American War Party? Truly, we stand at the precipice of disaster.
Once again, I beg you to listen to this week’s Batchelor-Cohen podcast. It is the ONLY source of consistently objective and honest Cold War reporting anywhere in the western media. Please stay informed of these events and be prepared for any outcome. Beside that, the only remaining task is to pray for peace in the hope that The New Cold War does not become World War Three.
